DR ANDREWS OSEI OKRAH (ANDY)
Andrews Okrah is a seasoned Natural Resources and Chartered Human Resource Management professional with extensive experience and knowledge in sustainable forestry management and strategic Human Resources Management. He has over thirty (30) years’ experience in sustainable Forestry Management, Climate Change, Strategic Human Resources Management, Business Management and Transformational Leadership. He is a Certified Chartered Human Resource (HR) Professional, an astute Leadership Trainer and a Youth Development Advocate. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Human Resource Management (CIHRM) Ghana.
Dr Okrah, a visionary leader with a proven record of driving strategic growth and sustainable success for diverse stakeholders. He is the current Chief Executive Officer of the Tree Crops Development Authority (TCDA) Ghana, leading the regulation, development, production, marketing and promotion of six (6) strategic economic crops i.e. Cashew, Coconut, Oil palm, Rubber, Mango and Shea (CCORMS) in Ghana. Prior to this position he was the Director of the Forestry Commission Training Centre (FCTC), Akyawkrom in the Ashanti region. He has served as Deputy Ashanti Regional Minister, Board Chairman of the Students Loan Trust Fund, Ghana and previously with the Forestry Commission as the Director of Human Resources where in each case delivered value and superior organisational excellence.
Andy is focused on addressing significant societal challenges by promoting the growth of tree crops, aiming to establish smart regional tree crops enclaves, enhance tree crops production, and improve productivity. His efforts seek to generate greater benefits for nature, communities and the economy.
Dr. Okrah`s strategic leadership has yielded positive results, but it is his approachable and authentic style that many employees recognize as vital for successful organisational development. He prioritises fostering a diverse and inclusive environment for all stakeholders.
With a highly commendable and credible background in Leadership, Business, Human Resources and Natural Resources Management, Andy holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Business and Management (HRM option) from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST),Kumasi, Ghana, Doctor of Theology Degree from the North Carolina College of Theology, USA, Master of Business Administration (MBA) (Employee Relation option) from the University of Leicester, United Kingdom and Bachelor of Science Degree in Natural Resources Management (Forest and Silvculture option) from Kwame Nkrumah University Science and Technology (KNUST),Kumasi, Ghana, during which he served as the President of the Students Representative Council (SRC) and the initiator of the novel KNUST SRC Hostel and SRC Development Fund. Dr Okrah is passionate about youth empowerment and leadership, and therefore he is the Founder of a youth development-oriented Organisation called Young Professionals and Youth Coalition (YPYC) Initiative and the Convener of a national youth leadership conference and Award dubbed TRANSFORM SUMMIT and AFRICA ROLE MODEL AWARD. He is the author of two leadership books i.e. Transformational Leadership -Walking the Talk and ‘You Are A Leader- Time Tested Strategies for Unearthing
the Leader in You’.
