Cashew Registration & Licensing

Before you start your application, please read the instructions detailing the required document needed to apply for the various value chain types.

NOTE THE FOLLOWING:
LICENCE SHALL BE RENEWABLE AFTER 24 MONTHS FROM THE DATE OF ISSUE UPON APPLICATION BY AN ACTOR.
PLEASE ATTACH COPIES OF THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS TO APPLY AS: 

 1.    AGGREGATOR
A person who is an aggregator of Raw Cashew Nuts (RCN) shall provide the following to qualify for registration with the Authority:

1. proof of Ghanaian citizenship;
2. name of the business and registered trademark;
3. location of processing business with the Ghana Postal Service coordinates;
4. installed capacity;
5. certificate of incorporation and commencement of business certificate;
6. nature of business
7. names of directors;
8. address of registered head office;
9. national identification; and tax identification number.

2.    TRADER AND EXPORTER
A person who is a trader or an exporter shall provide the following to qualify for registration with the Authority:

1. proof of Ghanaian citizenship;
2. name of the business and registered trademark;
3. proof of membership of an identifiable trader and exporter body;
4. location of business with the Ghana Postal Service coordinate;
5. certificate of incorporation and commencement of business certificate;
6. nature of business;
7. major shareholders of the company;
8. names of directors;
9. address of registered head office;
10. bankers’ reference;
11. national identification and tax identification number.

3.    REQUIRED EXPORT AND WAREHOUSING CAPACITY

1. A Ghanaian exporter in the tree crop value chain shall proof of
   1. the ability of the exporter to finance an export volume of not less than two hundred metric tons of a tree crop each year.
   2. and a warehouse capacity of at least thirty per cent of the export volume, where applicable; or
2. A non-Ghanaian exporter shall provide proof of
   1. 1. ability of the exporter to finance an export volume of two hundred metric tons of a tree crop each year, and in the case of cashew, an export volume of five hundred metric tons;
      2. warehouse capacity of thirty per cent of the total volume indicated in (i) above.
      3. an adequate RCN base that is traceable in an operational area; and
      4. the employment of not less than fifty per cent of senior staff who are Ghanaian citizens
