RUBBER STAKEHOLDERS MEETING IN WESTERN AND EASTERN ZONE

The Management of Tree Crops Development Authority has embarked on a two-day stakeholder meeting with all value chain actors in the Rubber Industry in the Western and Eastern zones of Ghana.

Day one (09/11/2022) saw the CEO of TCDA (Hon. William Agyapong Quaittoo), Dep. CEO, F&A of TCDA (Mr. Nana Yaw Oteng), Ag. P.A. to the CEO of TCDA (Mr. Emmanuel Afriyie Owusu), a representative from the Ministry of Food and Agriculture in the person of Ms. Esther Agyakum, and some Senior Officials from Agricultural Development Bank (ADB) and the National Investment Bank (NIB)

visiting the Secondi Youth Centre where the Management of TCDA walked the rubber value chain Actors through the mandate of TCDA and also presented to them, the proposed Rubber Cup-lump Pricing Mechanism.

The representative from MofA and the officials from the Banks took turns to address the participants on good agronomic practices and the importance of being credit wealthy as businessmen respectively.

In attendance were all four rubber value representatives on the TCDA Board, who also took turns speaking with their colleagues on pertinent issues affecting the rubber industry.

The same engagement took place on day two (15/11/2022) in the Eastern zone at Kade in the Eastern Region of Ghana.

To regulate and create a conducive environment for the growth and development of tree and industrial crops in Ghana with consequential benefits to the economy of the country.

Who We Are

The Tree Crops Development Authority(TCDA) is a body established by an Act of Parliament, the Tree Crops Development Authority Act 2019 (Act 1010,2019). TCDA is corporate with perpetual succession to regulate and develop in a sustainable environment; production, processing, and trading of six tree crops: Cashew, Shea, Mango, Coconut, rubber, and oil palm in Ghana.
