The meeting took place at the TCDA Executive Office and aimed at forging new collaborative strategies to revitalize the mango production sector.
The discussions were centered around several key priorities, including enhancing mango production, improving access to financing, and expanding market opportunities for local farmers. One of the main topics was tackling the persistent challenge of post-harvest losses, with both parties acknowledging the need for advanced solutions to ensure that the fruit reaches the market in optimal condition. Additionally, the delegation and Dr. Okrah explored ways to boost the competitiveness of Ghanaian mangoes in global export markets.
During the meeting, Dr. Andy Okrah praised the efforts of the National Mango Growers Association for their dedication to the growth and development of the industry. He emphasized that the TCDA was committed to supporting the sector and further strengthening its partnership with the NMGA to ensure sustainable growth.
“The role of the mango sector in the agricultural landscape of Ghana is pivotal,” said Dr. Okrah. “We are eager to work together and explore every opportunity to uplift the industry. With shared commitment and innovative solutions, we can elevate Ghana’s mango sector to new heights.”
The meeting ended on a positive note, with both sides agreeing to continue dialogue and take concrete steps towards achieving their common goals. The partnership between the NMGA and TCDA is expected to play a crucial role in transforming the mango industry into a more productive, profitable, and globally competitive sector.
