Tcda Ceo, Dr. Andy Osei Okrah, Concludes Successful Tour of Central Region

andyThe Chief Executive Officer of the Tree Crops Development Authority (TCDA), Dr. Andy Osei Okrah, has wrapped up a two-day familiarization tour of the Central Region.

As part of the visit, Dr. Okrah paid a courtesy call on the Central Region Minister, Hon. Eduamoah Ekow Panyin Okyere, to introduce himself and discuss strategic measures to enhance and promote tree crops like coconut and palm oil in the region. The Hon. Minister expressed enthusiasm for the visit and assured the TCDA of the region’s readiness to provide land for tree crop cultivation.

Dr. Okrah also led the TCDA delegation in engaging District and Municipal Agric Directors of the central region to raise awareness about the TCDA Act 10-10 of 2019 and LI 2024-71. The discussions aimed at strengthening collaboration to benefit value chain actors within the region.

During the tour, value chain actors highlighted concerns about quality seedlings for farmers and praised the TCDA for its continuous support. Dr. Okrah further met with the TCDA Zonal Office in Assin Foso to enhance monitoring and supervision efforts within the region.

The TCDA remains committed to empowering stakeholders and promoting sustainable growth in the tree crops sector.

Who We Are

The Tree Crops Development Authority(TCDA) is a body established by an Act of Parliament, the Tree Crops Development Authority Act 2019 (Act 1010,2019). TCDA is corporate with perpetual succession to regulate and develop in a sustainable environment; production, processing, and trading of six tree crops: Cashew, Shea, Mango, Coconut, rubber, and oil palm in Ghana.
